10 week old baby with colic...?

My 10 week old son has colic. He screams all night unless I'm holding him, and he screams all day unless he's eating. If I don't pick him up right away, his whole face gets red, and he's getting to the point where he almost chokes on his own spit :( My pediatrician gave me some drops to give him, and he said at this age it's okay to co-sleep and it won't imprint on him making him dependent on sleeping with us later on. So what I'm wondering is how you other mom's relax during the day and get a little rest? I always have to rush through my meals and when I go to the bathroom. How do you keep from getting frustrated? Of course I would never shake him or do anything to harm him BTW. I just hate to hear him cry, it breaks my heart.
