Does a hysterectomy effect puberty?

If you got a full hysterectomy when you were in kindergarten because of cancer, does that mean you don't go through puberty or have any hormones when you turn a teenager? Just wondering, because my friend is 15 and looks like she's 10. I know she's tiny because she had cancer several times when she was little and went through many rounds of chemo. I know she can't have kids because her uterus is gone but is anything else effected?
