UDATE: DOG SEDATION ?

It just goes to show that you need to contact a vet for vet questions. There are lots of idiots on here that will tell you that Benedryl will kill a dog-it's absolutely OK for dogs (when dosed properly), and often given by vets in their office for allergic reactions. My own vet recommended it as a sedative for one of my rescues who was afraid of grooming procedures. It worked great, and he no longer even needs it. I'm glad everything worked out for you.
