What is car leasing? Can I own the car I am paying for lease rent in future?

I want to buy a car at US in installments. I am being suggested for going in for lease. I do not know exactly what it is? Will any body explain me the complexity of lease? Shall I be ever own the car for which I paid the lease? If yes how?
